Whether your preferred candidate won or lost, there is much to be thankful for today: Thank you to election judges who give up their entire day so the rest of us can exercise our right to vote. Thank you to poll challengers who work for fair and honest elections for all. Thank you to donors and volunteers who realize that democracy is not a spectator sport. Thank you especially to the candidates who make sacrifices of time and money because of an idea, an issue, a principle.
It seems lately that much of our time and attention is spent on government actions around our country that make us unhappy. Yet we have the right to choose our representatives, and the assurance of a peaceful transfer of power when they change. We should not take these for granted. Before picking up the banner for the next charge at the ballot box, take a moment today to reflect on your privilege and power as a voter - and everyone who makes it possible. |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - September 4, 2009 Contact: Don Worcester (701) 729-7019 Renae Mitchell (701) 234-0152
| | | | | | | FARGO, ND - On Saturday September 12, 2009, the Fargo Theater will be hosting the Economic Reality Summit from 1:00-5:00pm. The event will be in a town hall setting focusing on economic issues that are facing not only our nation, but our region as well. The speakers will be discussing topics such as the breakdown of the bailout/stimulus money, the history of the Federal Reserve system and the economic state of affairs in both North Dakota and Minnesota. The forum is sponsored by members of the Cass County Campaign for Liberty, Treasure Island Coin Shop and the Minnesota Republican Liberty Caucus. "Our goal is to provide a event where citizens can come and learn about the reality of our nation's financial crisis and what they can do to restore their economic freedom. We are presenting it in fashion that will be educational, motivating and most importantly free from the usual partisan spin." said Renae Mitchell, Membership Chair for the Cass County Campaign for Liberty. One of the speakers, Chris Olson from Treasure Island, added, "We are entering truly uncharted economic territory and our current economic crisis has underlying causes that have not been fixed. They will not be fixed until the People of this nation are adequately informed so that they may take the right actions. This summit is one of the best ways for this to begin." *Saturday September 12, 2009 from 1-5PM, doors open at 12:15 for door prize registration. *Fargo Theater *The event will be free and open to the public. http://economicrealitysummit.com/ |
