On the lighter side... Although he brought it tongue-in-cheek, one activist was told at the April 15 Tea Party that he couldn't carry a pitchfork. He returned for the Jason Lewis Tax Cut Rally - and this was his (capitalist) reaction. Good luck! |

Our Special Convention and Governor's Forum was an engaging and energetic event! Over 70 people packed the place to hear from candidates who will fight for the core Republican principles of free markets, individual rights and limited, Constitutional government. David Strom was masterful as the moderator for the debate between Reps Seifert and Emmer. The format allowed for longer answers and give and take between the candidates that was revealing and spirited at times. Our thanks to both candidates for bringing their "A" game at the end of a long day. We unexpectedly made some news when Rep Tom Emmer presented and signed a pledge to the people of Minnesota to go beyond holding the line on taxes, which has been the subject of recent attention for both campaigns. Rep Marty Seifert promptly joined Rep Emmer and signed a pledge of his own. This fiscally responsible pledge would reduce taxes, reduce the size of the state's workforce and reduce the regulatory burden on business and industry. Almost three dozen candidates presented themselves for endorsement consideration last night, including Congressional candidates from four different districts. The members completed an endorsement recommendation poll that the Board took into consideration for endorsing. |
